Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information ClinLogger collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address and password, and details you choose to add, such as your school and degree. Passwords are never stored in readable form.
  • What you record: your logbooks, entries, hours, notes and similar content you choose to save. Please do not enter protected health information (PHI) bound by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) (see our Terms).
  • Usage information: how ClinLogger is used, such as which features are used and when, and how visitors first found the site.
  • Technical information: such as your IP address and browser, which we use to keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • Messages and sign-ups: what you send us through the contact form, and your email address if you join our mailing list or a waitlist.

How we use it

  • To provide ClinLogger, keep your account secure, and support you when you contact us.
  • To send emails about your account, such as password resets, and occasional newsletters and other promotional emails from ClinLogger. You can unsubscribe from these at any time.
  • To understand how ClinLogger is used, make it better and develop new features, including by creating de-identified or aggregated information, such as statistics across many users, that does not identify you.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, to protect forms against misuse, and to remember how you first found the site. We do not use advertising cookies.

Google account data

Some optional features let you connect your Google account, for example to import events from Google Calendar or export your logs to Google Sheets. If you connect:

  • We ask only for the access a feature needs, and only when you first use it.
  • Google Calendar: we read your list of calendars and the events in the dates you choose, so you can pick which to import. We save only the events you choose, as entries in your logbooks. We never change or delete anything in your calendar.
  • Google Sheets: we create a new spreadsheet with your ClinLogger data in your Google Drive. We can only access files that ClinLogger creates.
  • We store the access Google gives us securely so you stay connected. We do not keep other data from your Google account.
  • We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with others, except as needed to provide the feature you asked for or as required by law. People do not read it unless you ask us to for support, it is needed for security, or the law requires it.
  • You can disconnect at any time, in ClinLogger or in your Google Account settings. Disconnecting removes our access.

ClinLogger's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run ClinLogger, for things like hosting, email delivery, monitoring and payments. They handle information only as needed to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting your information

We keep your information while you have an account. You can delete your entries and logbooks at any time. To delete your account and everything in it, contact us at hi@clinlogger.com. It may take some time for your information to be fully removed from our systems. We may keep de-identified or aggregated information that does not identify you, and information we need to keep for legal or security reasons. Backups are kept for a limited time and then removed. We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections, though no system is perfectly secure.

Children

ClinLogger is meant for college students and older. It is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, we will update the date below, and tell you about important changes.
